  1. 1) False, 2 meals, morning and evening, is better

    2) True

    3) no clue

    4) yes (of course!)

    5) under 4

    6) Safe distance of the horse's length.  Either stand out of the horse's reach, or stand super close to it's side.

    7) yes (but usually, the farrier (horse shoer) or the vet does it, they do need special training though)

    8) no, but it's recommended.  Clean equipment lasts longer (which makes it safer), and is better for the horse (dirt/sweat=rashes and sores).

  2. false two meals are requires it is the way they are built as foragers.

    2. true/false depends on how the horses get along. or nature of how hard the bite is, but grooming is a sign of affection.

    3. this one doesn't make sense to me but hroses have 4 legs

    4. Yes horses should have clean, fresh water available at all times. They can dehydrate if not!

    5.under four.

    6.

keep a safe distance of one hrose length behind or more if the horse has behavioral problems or is a kicker

    7.YES

    8. No once a week is a good rule.

  3. Heheh...you play, Howrse don't you? And that's riding level 3 test, right? I'm doing the test right now!

  4. 1. False.  We feed our chunky ones once a day during the summer, but 2x during the winter.  Some get fed 2x daily all year round.

    2. True.  They're grooming each other, kind of a 'you scratch my back I'll scratch yours'.  Serious biting with flat ears on the other hand....

    3. I really don't know about that question.

    4. Yes.  Horses get thirsty, too!

    5. Under 4 years.

    6. Keep a safe distance apart.  If you have a kicker, put a red ribbon on his/her tail to let other riders know.

    7. Not technically.  The vet floats their teeth, so the term 'vet' can be considered a catch-all for doctor, dentist, and optomitrist.

    8. No.  Usually I wash mine before shows, but that's it.

    Fun questions!

  5. Nay lad Neigh

  6. 1. False. 2 meals are better. Horse's stomachs are small and can't handle large amounts of food at once.

    2. True. For the most part, they are showing "friendship", especially if they are nibbling each other whithers (scratching each other).

    3. I jump, but I've never heard of jumping members or references. I really think that it's legs.

    4. Yes. Why would you deny a horse water?

    5. A female horse is a filly until she turns 4 years old. At that point, she becomes a mare.

    6. Keep a safe distance of at least one horse's length. This prevents mass chaos in the event that one horse spooks, kicks another, stumbles, etc.

    7. It's up to the interpreter. Horses do have their teeth floated (filed down) and checked up, but there are not "horse dentists" that only do that. Usually, the horse's vet takes care of that.

    8. Technically, no. The saddle can withstand a few months of riding without being cleaned. However, to keep it in the best condition for a longer time, you do want to soap and condition it after every ride.

  7. 1. false

    2. true

    3. legs

  9. 1.  False.  Horses should be fed at least 2 times a day.

    2.  True

    3. Not sure as I know nothing about horse jumping.  I guess legs though.

    4.  Yes

    5.  under 4 years old

    6.  Keep a safe distance of one horse's size

    7.  No not necessarily.  There are such people that are equine dentists but most generally a vet or farrier with specialized training do horses teeth.

    8.  No.  But like the poster above me said clean tack lasts longer plus stops the spread of illness, fungus, sweat rashes, and girth itch that can be spread if the tack is used on more than one horse.
