  1. Everything, but "Rice and Beans" are popular as a Brazilian dish.

I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 living room house with a very nice area, but I´m middle class. There´s plenty of space.

Usually for middle and high class we have "quarto de empregada" - Maid´s room - as well, since live in maids are very cheap and a lot of people have them. Not me.

    Interesting... there´s a lot, really,

in the 1800s, when Napoleon was taking over Europe, since Portugal was the UK´s main ally, the royal court of Portugal moved to Brazil to  scape the French.

So Brazil became part of the Portuguese Empire and that helped a lot to bring foward our independence.

Very mixed population. Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, French, etc... lots of African descendents of course.

Largest Japanese colony outside of Japan, they came in the beginning of the 1900s.

Widest gap between poor and rich in the world.

VERY CORRUPT. There are more corrup countries, but the corrupt politicians here really to steal a lot.

    what else you wanna know?

  2. Specify the region. Each region has its particularitity, music, food, folklore, ... Regions North, Northeast, South, Southeast and Center-West.

  3. 1) Brazilians eat rice and beens almost every day  except on the weekends when families get together and cook different dishes. Along with rice and beans we have either chicken, beef or pork and salad. We don't eat eggs in the morning like in North American , but we eat eggs along with our meals during lunch or dinner.

Our breakfast is similar than in France. A piece of french bread (usually fresh bought the same day at the bakery) with slices of ham and cheese, or only butter or mayo, served with tea or coffee, and juice. Kids don't like cereals so much but some of them have it in the morning too.

    2) Brazil is a country where the rich and the poor  are very different. You can see the most luxurious homes in every part of Brazil and the worse homes someone can live in, in the slams also found in many parts of Brazil. A common house is simple with two bedrooms, one for the kids and one for the parents. It is unusual to find two bathrooms in a low middle class home.

    3) Brazil is like many other countries "not perfect"! We have many problems economically, financially and specially socially. A beautiful thing about Brazil is that we don't have a materialist mind. that means most of Brazilians think about their families and work very hard to have at least a decent car, and own their house. That's enough to make a Brazilian person happy! We are very connected to our families, that means Sunday is that day to spend with our families unless you live really far and it is unable to visit often. We are generally a very happy nation, but unlike what many people think about us we work really hard and we have a very difficult life to survive everyday, but we always find a time to enjoy ourselves in our day off or during our vacation.

Brazilians come from all over the world and the natives are Indians and we were discovered by Portuguese colonies (that's why we are the only country in South america to speak Portuguese).

After the end of the second war, Brazil opened its doors to the immigrants and we had many coming from japan (the biggest japanese community outside Japan is in Brazil) as well as many chinese and koreans. We also have many Jewish families who came to Brazil running way from the war (my ancestors were among them).and also from Spain, Italy, Holland, you name it!  During the Portuguese monarquia in Brazil, many Africans were brought to Brazil to work as slaves  as it happened in many other nations.

We also have the most beautiful places such as Lencois Maranhenses, Rio de janeiro, the Amazon, Fernando de Noronha, Salvador da Bahia, etc...

We also have famous yearly festivals such as the Carnaval and Oktober Festival in the South of Brazil, where most of the Germany immigrants moved to. The Oktober Fest in Brazil is considering the biggest German Festival outside Germany.
