Questions about lip rings?

Hey i'm thinking about getting a lip piercing. If I do it will be on the left side of my lower lip and it will be pierced with a stud, and after it heals ill probably switch to a ring. But what I was wondering was what is the easiest kind of lip ring to use. I heard that CBRs (captive bead rings) are really hard and annoying to use, so, I wasn't sure if I should get a seamless ring because I want a ring that doesn't have a ball on it, but I also want something easy to use.

Also, if I get a seamless ring, how do I use it exactly.

Thanx sooo much...

  1. Ya CBRs are really annoying. When I got my lip pierced it was the only type of ring they gave for first timers and it felt soo bad! Like the ring kept sliding in and out every time I smiled *shudder*. I think a barbell type is the best. The ball doesn't make it uncomfortable, I think the ring in general was just annoying. If you get the ring just slide it a little as you're cleaning it so it goes inside the piercing.

  2. I don't know too much about lip rings but my daughter has the same piercing that you are wanting to get. When she got it pierced she had a ring with a ball on it. When she went to school 2 days later they told her she had to take it out well she was not able to take it out at school because the way the guy put it on it had to be basically clamped on and needed a special tool to get it off. He told us when we were ready to take it off to come back to him and do not attempt to take it off ourselves. Well the shop was closed that day and we had to get it off so we had to use pliers to get it off and it was very hard to do without ripping her lip. So if you want one that can easily be taken off and put back on do not go with the ring and ball.

  3. Personally I enjoy having a ring over a stud..but I don't keep the bead in mine. When I did i still enjoyed it better. The studs always stuck out way to far for my liking, even the short ones. And i hates how it rubbed on my teeth.

I have had my lip piercings for 5 years and the last 1-2 have been without a bead and i have never lost my piercing. However this isn't a good idea to do with a fresh piercing.. I have to take mine out whenever i eat something big or messy like a burger or else I will lose the ring. To a new piercing that is just asking for infection.

To get the seamless in a piercer can help you with that. they have a tool that can pull it apart and put in together.
