Question:

Questions about liquid eyeliner?

i just started putting liquid eyeliner on the watery, fleshy part close to the inside of your eye.(i think it may be called your waterline?)

but i also wear contacts, and since i've began wearing eyeliner, my contacts burn and itch so bad i have to take them out. my contacts are always perfectly clean when i put them in, so it's not that.

does this have something to do with me putting on liquid eyeliner on that part of my eye?

are there any all natural eyeliners that maybe won't irritate my eyes so much? right now, i use N.Y.C. , but i've heard from others that that's a veryyyy low quality brand. so should i just switch to a different brand or stop all together?

thank you so much!

oh and if u could include a link to a good natural eyeliner (under 10 dolalrs please) that would be great!

thanks again =)

  1. how abt not putting any liquid eyeliner at all!

  2. NYC is a low quality liquid eyeliner.

liquid eyeliner on the waterline ALWAYS burns if it gets in your eyes, unless you have eyes made of steel.

try a different eyeliner that says it's safe for contact use! knowing NYC, it does not say that. also, apply it somewhere else or try using an eyeliner pencil instead.

  3. where you put it has everything to do with the irritation. keep it on your lashline, not the inside of your eye. you can keep using NYC, but don't put it on the inside of your eye!

  4. Baby , liquid eyeliners are not supposed to be put in ur waterline , quit that asap , its kinda unhealthy to ur eyes and ur eyes might get itchy and allergic soon ..

  5. liquid eyeliner shouldn't go on the inside of your eye! it should be applied either along the top of your eye or under the lash-line on the bottom of your eye (on your actual skin). If you are using eyeliner on the inside of your eye then kohl eyeliner is best (pencil). its cheap and won't run as badly as the liquid liner. I use kohl eyeliner inside my eye and liquid on the top, i find thats best

    hope this helps (:

(i would send a link for my eyeliner but i live in UK)

  6. Yeah, I used to have the same problem. I wear contacts too, and usually liquid eyeliner is the only makeup I wear for everyday use. Here's a tip: put the contacts in first before you apply the eyeliner. Also, you need to make sure that none of it gets inside your eye. If you're putting it on the fleshy part inside your eye, your eye will just keep gettng irritated. Just put it on slightly lower than where you put it on now- on the bottom of your eye where it won't actually go inside. I use Maybelline waterproof liquid eyeliner, and it never irritates my eyes. Before that, I used Prestige liquid eyeliner. Both of them work really well and shouldn't give you any eye trouble. The Maybelline you can find just about anywhere, I think I bought mine for around 6 bucks. But definitely stop using the NYC, its not a good brand at all.

    Hope this helped =)

  7. Don't put liquid eyeliner of any type in the waterline...it can easily dissolve into your eye causing the eye irritation.

For waterline you should use kohl pencil eyeliner that is safe to use in the waterline. ( meaning don't using waterproof eye liner, eye gel pencil liner.) Get normal kohl pencil eyeliner.

"Prestige" makes wonderful eyeliners which can be found literally at any store Pathmark, Ulta, Drug Fair, A&P, CVS, Rite Aid...ect

Im also a contact lens wearer and Ive been using "Prestige black eye liner" for about 6 years in the waterline.Ive never had any problems and the product is ver affordable and has great reviews.

  8. Hi,

Using liquid eyeliner on you waterlines is not a good idea especially if you use contacts. Instead, opt for a pencil liner. If the irritation persist try just adding either liquid or pencil liner beneath your waterline right where your lower lashes are and use a smugger (if using a pencil) to blend in.

    Hope this helps.

  9. liquid eyeliner is made for your eyelids, on top. so for your waterline, use stick eyeliner, made for the waterline.
