Question:

Questions about love hotels?

I'm not actually planning to visit one, but I do have questions about certain things-

What is the youngest age that is allowed into love hotels in Japan? Would it be 20 or 18, or some other age?

Do the crappier ones even bother to check the customer's age?

And do both customers need to provide their ages or just the one paying?

Do both customers need to come in at the same time, or can one check in and then the other go to their room a few minutes later?

  1. Love hotels are usually totally anonymous. They do whatever possible so that nobody knows who is entering and all that. It's often done with machines or they simply have the business done in such a way that the person at the front desk and the customer can not see each other. You should not have a problem with age or sexuality/gender.

  2. To answer the additional question I once checked in one in Shinjuku with a Korean s*****e and there was no problem when we checked in but when we were leaving the clerk said we wouldn't be allowed in again. It must have taken her a few minutes to realize he's not the gender he pretended to be. In fact he's the most beautiful Korean girl I'd ever seen (as was his p****r!)

Only a few ones require both customers to come at the same time. The hotels and escort services need to cooperate in order to thrive. As an aside the escort services are usually referred to as "hotetoru" in Japan. The remnants of the derogatory term that went out of use after an international protest.
