  1. I was in the old corps in 1966-69.  Mental toughness is most important.  Don't think the corps will make you a man if you aren't one now.  Just keep your mouth shut and follow orders and never volunteer for anything.  Good luck and Semper Fi.

  2. You can read some great tips here on the page titled BOOT CAMP info..

  3. Run and do pull ups everyday my friend.

  4. swim swim swim and swim again... with weight on... I have a rubber m16 aka rubber ducky that I train with...

  5. the hardest thing is you need to run 3miles in less then 26 min

  6. You should really just shoot for scoring good in the IST. It's the first thing you will have to pass when you get there, and you want to do good. The requirements are:

    Male

    - 2 Pull Ups

    - 35 Sit Ups (2 minutes)

    - 1.5 Mile Run - 13:30

If you can accomplish that, and then work on running 3 miles and doing as many pull-ups and crunches as you can, then you will do fine. You will get stronger and faster as boot camp goes by so don't worry about that. Also, as long as you know how to swim, you will do fine at the swim qualification. Don't worry about anything else, just focus on the physical aspect and you will have an easier time with everything.

  7. Just make sure that you can pass the IST, the sit ups, push ups, and the pull ups.  My boyfriend left for Boot a few weeks ago, failed his IST due to the pull ups and has been in PCP since.

So just make sure you can do your things and you'll be good :)

  8. get 8 to 6 hours sleep a night and pracitce waking up for fire watch

do pullups situps pushups and run.

and learn to c**p and eat hella fast

  9. mentally nothing...but I heard they have stress cards now a days if drill instructor is too agressive on a recruit. PFT. thats what you need to get ready 4. the 3 mile run, pull ups & sit ups. But trust me... if your recruiter says ur run time & your pull ups are gd enough...there not. push harder, when you can't push no more.... push MORE! cuz the drill instructors will do that when you get 2 Parris Island (if ur from east coast) But it is all worth it! Oh... and don't be the last 1 for anything. u dont want 2 be singled out, then quarter decked. lol best of wishes & have fun!!
