Question:

Questions about my PS3 and my Panasonic TH50PX6U Plasma?

I have a Panasonic TH50PX6U Plasma and a PS3. This set is only supposed to go up to 720p, however the display on the TV is indicating 1080i and 1080p both look clearer respectively than 720p on the set. How is that possible? Am I viewing 1080p?

Another question is what are the optimum settings for this set?

About the PS3, should I set it to 1080p or 1080i?

What is Super White and how can I find out if my TV accepts it?

What are the best settings for my ps3 in conjunction with my plasma?

Serious or funny answers will be appreciated as well as seriously funny answers. But seriously, because we all know how important is the Home Entertainment Center.

  1. The internal scalar in your TV will downscale any signals it receives to it's native resolution (your TV is actually 768 not 720p).  When your display indicates a 1080i signal, it signifies that it is receiving a 1080i signal but displaying a 768 signal.  Your TV will not display a 1080i/p signal.

The best settings for your PS3 really depend on what you think looks best.  I have a 768 display and I feed it a 1080i signal.  Hope this helps...
