average tuition for basic classes?

tuition for housing one year?

monthly rent for a small basic apartment nearby?

is it true that freshman can't have their cars on campus; or is this only for kids housing there?

considering colleges for future; need some help :)

  1. I am not in any og your groups but we looked at NYU last year for one of my kids. He hated the feel of it BTW, though some love it.

    NYU really has no campus. It has several buildings together in Greenwich Village and then other buildings are spread out throughout lower Manhattan. Some of the dorms are in seedy areas like Chinatown.

    Tuition is about $37,000 with room and board bringing the full cost to over $50,000 per year. You could certainly bring a car, but you would have to find a garage for it yourself and you would pay minimum $600 per month to garage it. There is no on street parking you can count on.

    A basic apartment, a dump really, would run over $2000 per month nearby, more for anything decent. Several students usually share a tiny 1 bedroom apartment if they're not rich.

    NYU is overall hard to afford if your parents are not wealthy. They give rummy financial aid, the cost of everything in NY is high and costs there continue to rise.
