Questions about pink eye? if i have it?

well i think i got pink eye from my friend that i hung out with a day ago but I'm not sure when i woke up this morning my eyes were a lil blood shot under the lids of my eyes.there was also like a lil red patch on the corner of my eye(on the skin) and they were pretty sandy when i woke up.

if i do have pink eye i don't wanna go to a doctor how long will it take for it to heal with out me going to a doctor.

Your eyes are probably just dry...sometimes when i sleep and they water then dry the corners get flaky..

You know you have pink eye if you wake up and your eyes are itchy, gooky and are p***y. You may have blurred vision too.

It depends.  Pink eye, also called conjunctivitis, can show up when you least expect it, and it is very contagious. There is more than one type of pink eye, and how you treat it depends on the type. If it is bacterial you need antibiotic ointment or drops. There is no particular treatment for viral pink eye. If it is an allergy that is causing your difficulty you may need anti-inflammatory medication or antihistamines. Frequent hand washing is crucial to prevent spreading the virus or bacteria, depending on which type you have.   There is also something called CLARE, or contact lens induced acute red eye. Sleeping in contacts makes the eye more susceptible to inflammation/infection.

I recommend seeing a doctor, even though it's not something everyone enjoys. They will help it go away, it may just get worse if you don't!
