how is red tide detected?

how is it measured?(ml/liter?)

how do we determine how toxic it is?

i need these anwers fast please for my marine science honors class.

red tide is an algae bloom that is toxic to most organisms,,, so it would probably be meadured in ppm (parts per million) as for detection or toxicity, try google... hope this helps some
