How would fertilizers that flow into the Gulf of Mexico help the environment?

  1. Fertilizers mainly contain nitrogenous products that help enrich soil to increase output in vegetation.

    Pro's:

    * Boost of plants, agriculture.

    * More plants = more oxgen

    * More plants = breeding ground for animals.

    Con's:

    * Some minerals are soluble in water and may leak into lakes, where they make underwater plants(algae etc.) and may cause eutrophication.
