  1. Everyone antes. Then everyone is dealt two cards face down and one card face up.

Lowest face up card is required to throw in a bring in bet. The person with the lowest card can bet more than the bring in amount.

The betting then proceeds clockwise with players folding, calling or raising. This continues until there is no more action.

A second face up card will be dealt. There will be a betting round starting from the person who has the highest hand face up. This is repeated until there are 4 face up cards.

A 3rd face down card is dealt and there is another betting round.

  2. Finally, a question about poker other than texas holdem.

In 7 card stud there is ususally an ante  that everyone posts prior to being dealt cards, if it is a 2/4 game, the ante is around .25.  Then everyone is dealt two cards face down and one card face up, the face down cards are the "hole" cards and the face up card is the "door" card.  The lowest value door card must initiate the action with what is known as the bring in, it is usually about half the value of the first bet, so in a 2/4 game it would be 1 dollar.(ammounts varry as to what the bring is from card room to card room, but it should be less than the first betting round).  The action then proceeds around the table from the bring in, and people can fold, call the bring in, complete the bet....which is betting 2 dollars in a 2/4 game, or can raise if there has been a completion of the bet, normally the betting is capped at 4 times the bet for that round if it keeps getting re-raised( the pot can only be raised 4 bets).

Next comes 4th street, which is another card dealt face up and you have another round of betting, but this time the action starts with the best hand showing, again in a 2/4 game, it is a 2 dollar bet at this stage, with three raises in turn allowed.  Possition in stud, unlike holdem is fluid, it can change with each card dealt, and possition is a powerful tool in stud too.

Next  5th street is dealt, this is the fifth card and it is dealt face up, the best hand showing has option of betting, but now the bet is for 4 dollars in the 2/4 game and it can be raised in turn 3 times also.

Next is 6th street, dealt face up with 4 dollar bets, proceeding like the previous two streets betting wise and possition wise.

Last is 7th street also known as the river,  it is dealt face down as a hole card and the person who acted 1st on 6th street acts first again for the same bets, 4 dollars and up to three raises in turn.

After all betting the best five card poker hand wins the pot.

That is how you play 7 card stud......there are other variants, such as 7 stud 8 or better, 7 stud hi/lo, razz and chicago hi or chicago lo.

  3. It would take ages to type it all down, but here's some search results (I can't check through them cos my company doesn't allow gambling sites)
