I am needing to find a website that explains the terms on showjumping. (e.g what does am3 mean? etc) I am wanting to get more involved into show jumping, as I have only really done just pleasure riding for the last 5 years. I have done searches on the internet but I must be looking in all the wrong places.

  1. i have been doing hunter jumper for 15 yrs now and you are going to want to find a show jumping trainer to be on the safe side and you will want to probably take some lessons at a local barn and get a horse that can jump you want to start out on a horse that knows what they are doing i would not suggest learning how to jump and trying to teach a horse to jump at the same time.e-mail at megannblueberry@yahoo.com for more information

  2. you will probably find your answer in the horse section of answers. it is under pets. ask your question there, and you will get more answers.

  3. The United States Equestrian Federation is the governing body for show jumpers in the US.  Their website is http://www.usef.org/ .  If you look under "Disciplines" for  Jumping you can find quite a bit of information, including the general rules and zone specifications.
