Questions about the 70's?

so i'm trying to write a creative story for a schools task, and i'm meant to be emulating Thea Astley's style in 'Hunting the wild pineapple' - a collection of stories based in the 70's

just a few ideas on the slang, common sayings, the ideals of the time, etc just a general idea of what the 70's was all about and how i could interpret those into my story would be great help :D thanks!
