Hey everyone, I was wondering if any of you reading were assistant manager or higher or knew anything about the assistant management program at wal mart. I am thinking about discussing it with my store manager soon but I wanted to hear from some of you.

Two questions I was wondering about was...

If you have to move your family will wal mart help out any?

Do they pay your lodging and such when you to into the training program?

I know about the process of applying and all but any other useful advice is welcomed here. Also if you would like to share your story with me good or bad please go ahead.

  1. Not sure about the moving part....they used to be able to place you in any store but now they try to place you as close to where you live within the market.  When you talk to the manager about it, ask them to explain that part to you.

While in the training program if it is far from your home then yes, they pay for lodging for you - not the family.  If you choose to commute every day then they will pay your mileage.  They also pay for meals - so keep receipts.  It's just like when you go to another store to help out as far as what they pay for.
