I just finished reading the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" and now have to write an essay about the theme and about the society and predjudice and was wondering if anyone had a few pointers to help me about that. I was also wondering how exactly Robert Ewell died, i mean i understand that Arthur Radley killed him but how exactly did that scene go because it was difficult to follow exactly. Also any other tips that will help in my essay please and thank you (:

  1. If you want some easy help go to sparknotes.com. They have sum up the chapters, explain themes, describe characters, etc. Here's the link:

  2. well what happened is, scout thought it was jem who pulled ewell off of her, but really it was boo radley. he then stabbed ewell and carried jem, who was hurt.

for your essay, just make sure to cover things about the social injustice. people tried to divide their county into "social classes" but scout, an 8-year-old knew what it was all about. she's one of the only people who realized that there is only 1 type of people, we're all the same. it doesn't matter the color of our skin, the property we live on, or our family background, the only thing that matters is what each person has inside their own hearts. that's how they should be judged.

good luck on your essay =]

  3. The scene in which Ewell is killed is confusing, but he was stabbed to death by Arthur Radley after he had attacked Jem and Scout.

The theme is really about the brutality and inhumanity of race relations in the South during the post-Civil War era and how many white Southerners in essence de-humanized African Americans (the court scene in which the defendent is mocked for feeling sorry for the Ewell daughter is evidence of that, the very idea that an African American would feel sorry for a white person was considered unthinkable).

  4. Just explain how people shoudnt be judged by the colour of their skin. Its YOUR essay,

    ppl help me?
