when you buy a 60gb ps3 HD system, do you need i hi-def tv to play? or can you use regular av cable to use on a regular tv? can you record your own dvds on the ps3? which versions of the ps3 are ps2 compatible? what is the difference between the 60gb and 80gb ps3 bsides the memory, cause on gamestop both are priced at 450

  1. from my experience the 60gb version is NOT compatible with PS2 games. Also, the PS3 does not have a DVD or CD Burner, but can read both and rip files from them. I don't think it can rip from copyrighted DVDs however. Get the 80gb for sure. Yes you can use the PS3 on a standard def tv with the component video cables (RWY)


  2. no you do not need a hi def. tv to play a ps3 and yes you can record your dvds to your ps3 basically your copying them onto your hard-drive and the 60gb and 80gb are compatible with the ps2 titles and there is no difference but if you are not bothered about the memory then get a 60gb because sony has stopped producing them and they are more rarer to buy  

  3. you can use regular av cables you cant record dvds get the 80 if they are both priced the same and the 80 and 60 both work with most ps2 games
