I learned how to wakeboard this week and i want to buy one of my own, and I need to know the basics.i would rather not spend 150 to 200 bucks.

Questions:

-brands?

-how much do they cost?

-boots or "sandal" style?

- i am 5'4" and still growing. what size should i get?

-fittings?

-where should i buy one?

-kids size or adult board?

anything else would be awesome.

  1. ive never been much of a hyperlite fan but that doesnt mean theyre not nice boards, a very good begginers board id reccommend would be the CWB sol or the CWB flame with maybe some older bindings since youre not looking to spend too much,

for your size, id reccommend a board around the size of a 128cm but if youre looking to continue baording buying a 134-138 would be a better choice, even though its going to be waay harder to get used to...

you can buy wakeboard setups at wakeside.com

    evogear.com

    the-house.com

    buywake.com

or any sporting goods store, like i said before, if youre going to grow into it, id get a 135 which is an adult board, its going to be harder to get used to and control, but youll save money later

  2. I don't think you will have much luck buying a wakeboard for under $150. The only way you will find one that cheap is if you find someone that is desperately trying to sell a used one. New high end wakeboards cost around $800 with bindings. If you really want to keep your budget low that your best bet is www.bartswatersports.com www.overtons.com or ebay.com. Barts and Overtons are catalogs that sell new wakeboards that were overstocked and are a few years old, you may be able to find one for around $200.

The best brands are Hyperlite, Ronix and Liquid Force but if you are trying to save money the cheapest boards are Hydroslide.

Wakeboard sizes are generally measured in cm and are judged by your weight. Without your knowing your weight I would go with something around a 125cm board.

You probably won't find any sandal style boots and even if you did you won't want them.

Depending on how serious you will be with the sport I recommend saving up some money and getting a higher quality wakeboard so you don't have to worry about buying a new wakeboard after a year or two.

    good luck
