Questions about water polo!?

I am thinking about going out for a college intramural team. Do you think i will need to wear a speedo? If so, should i wear more than one? any tips? Are you allowed to swim with the ball underwater to get it to the other side? How big is the ball?

You will need an athletic swim suit so either a speedo or jammers (there normal swim suit length but really tight) and you dont need to wear more than one.  There is a ball under rule but it is kinda weird.  You can put the ball under water but you should not do it when there is a defender around because if they touch the ball and it is under the water it is the defenders ball (sorry that is really confusing).  The ball is about the size of a vollyball but the weight is in between a basketball and a vollyball.  If you arent a swimmer start swimming!  It is really physically demanding!  If you have any more questions you can message me.  Good luck
