Questions about women's prison?

Hey! I'm a 26 year old woman and I'm being sentenced next week to 2-5 yrs in prison. My lawyer says I'll be taken into custody immediately. Will I be put in shackles for transportation? Will I be strip searched? If so what is the procedure? Will people see me naked? What is the booking process like? What will I wear and how often do i get to change? Do they allow bras? How often will i be allowed to shower? Will they cut my hair and do they allow hair accessories? thanks for any help

NO none you are better off going to get a cute hair cut that is short now because ain't no pulling up with scrunchies no hair spray  nothing You can learn to roll your hair with paper bag strips Works Great HONEST

You will not get a hair cut there  this is not Men's prison

You are assigned two to 4 outfits Some prisons make you buy them again unsure if you are going to prison or jail

some people do not know the difference

You send out uniforms weekly for laundry You get fresh ones weekly

you wash undies and bras and socks by hand

You are NOT going to a hotel or fashion show it will not be Fun although if you like reading and watching TV and playing cards hey you may like it You eat at 4:30 AM 11 AM and 5 or 6 So take money to shop commissary an  get food and a hot pot

call the prison that is local to you and ask what you can bring with you some allow some things but must be NEW and sealed and see through Also you will really need money to buy a lot of stuff if it is prison TV radio tennis shoes in some cases hot pot weekly food So best to take it with you now than try to talk folks into sending it later Do not get upset but friends who claim they will be there many will NOT come visit or mail you or even take calls so be ready You will find who really cares about you by who is there for you.

You will most likely be put in shackles for transportation. You will be strip searched. They may do a cavity search. Since you are a woman, the only people in the room with you should be women. You will wear the jumpsuit they give you. They will probably not cut your hair, but you will probably not be allowed accessories and they could be used as weapons.

On a side note...you really shouldn't be thinking of these things. You SHOULD be thinking about why you are going into prison in the first place. And you should be thinking about how to better yourself and get on the right track. Taxpayers are sick and tired of paying for convicts to live comfy lives.

.   This experience may change your life.  Lots of famous people served jail time. Would you consider writing a book or story about it.  Yes, you will wear stripes. Won't cut your hair.
