I'm writing this anime style story i made up and i guess its alittle confusing because when i have someone saying something people get confused as to who is talking and i dont wana have to make it look like a script where it says he says this and that so my question is how do u show whos talking without making it look confusing??

  1. I alternate between using things like "she replied" or "he grumbled" and describing their facial expression or something like that. Here's an example from the one book I'm writing:

“Not so fast, Camille Lenore. You owe me, remember? And I finally came up with a way for you to pay me back.” She was grinning smugly again, a very bad sign.

Or you could write stuff like:

"Whaddya mean, you don't think it's a good idea?" he asked, his scowl pulling his eyebrows together into a V.

By adding a description, it doesn't sound so much like a he said that, she said this script kinda thing.

  2. uhhh highlight one characters lines in one color and the other characters in a different color and then make a key
