Questions about yahoo groups?

I am wondering if it is against Yahoo rules to ask for a 'membership fee' before someone can join my group? I host an online photo show series, and usually I would create a photobucket account and when people paid their entry fee for the contest, I would provide them with the login info.

Anywho, thats my explanation so you can help me better with my question. If iit IS against the rules, could you refer me to another site where I could do this photo show series?

  1. I read the Yahoo Groups Guidelines, and didn't find anything about that.  Then I started scanning the Yahoo Terms Of Service.  In the latter, I found the following :

    "12. NO RESALE OF SERVICE

"You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade, resell or exploit for any commercial purposes, any portion of the Service (including your Yahoo! ID), use of the Service, or access to the Service."

What you propose in your question seems to me to violate that rule.  Finally, I don't know of another site where it is not against the rules to do what you propose, though I don't know many sites on the internet, so there may be one out there somewhere that I don't know about.

  2. no it is not against the rules
