Questions ahead of the National Hockey League play-offs - Part 6
Which player is most likely to choke under pressure?
Previously we mentioned the player who is going to come under a lot of pressure during the course of the play-offs. Now it is time that we tell that you which player will choke under the tons of pressure during the course of the play-offs. The player in
both cases is the same, Canadiens goal-keeper Carey Price.
Though the Canadiens fans will be heartbroken to hear this, but this has a high percentage of taking place. He was absolutely brilliant during the course of the regular season, but what goes against him is the fact that he does not have a good track record
when it comes to the play-offs. Out of the 19 games that he has played in the play-offs, Price has been able to win only five games which are disappointing and shocking considering the level of talent that this player has.
The goal conceding percentage also exceeds to three which is huge considering the big occasion that the teams are playing i.e. the play-offs. Price has a chance to get out of the dark image that he has during the course of the play-offs where he folds his
arms and stands after a loss. On the other hand, the Canadiens goalie will also be confident that this time he will make a new image for himself as he had a strong performance during the regular season that is supporting him.
The test and the new image building struggle is expected to give the star goal-keeper of the Canadiens too much under which there is a high percentage that he will crumble. Though there is also a possibility that he might fail, but this time out he has the
greatest chance of coming across success since he is said to be on top of his game. However, when it comes to the facts and history, then you can count him out. How well Price performs will be answered as the series starts.
Can the Vancouver Canucks win against the defending champions Chicago Blackhawks?
The Canucks are going into the play-offs with their confidence sky high after they have won the Conference and League that has handed them the President’s Trophy. Not only this but the fact that they have come up with their best regular season performance
also makes them a very strong reckoning force in the running for the Stanley Cup title this season.
However, the regular season is gone and done and what awaits them is the “True Season” as some say, by which they mean the play-offs. Everything is going to start from scratch, the confidence, the momentum and the performance as all the previous wins and
highest points during the regular season are history.
The Canucks have been knocked out of the play-offs by the Hawks for the past two seasons but this time Chicago is a totally different team. They no longer have the strong offence that they once had and neither are they good enough up front to give the Canucks
goalie a tough time.
Though there are some good players, but this time they are not the strong and reckoning force that they had been for the past two years. However, it remains to be seen as to whether the defending champions emerge as winners or the Canucks finally break past
the Hawks for the first time after three attempts.
