Questions arising regarding the Bruins-Lightning series of the Eastern Conference Finals Play-offs (Part 4)
We conclude with the last two questions coming forward across the two teams in the Eastern Conference Finals.
What is the future of Steve Downie when it comes to the current series?
Downie has always been one of the players who have helped the team immensely and this season was no different. He displayed brilliant performances during the regular season and it was expected that he would do well in the postseason as well, which he did.
He worked out regularly, with the will and desire to get back on ice as soon as possible. He did spend some time on ice this past Monday. After consulting the medical staff in the team, Downie was declared fit to play and he was included in the squad.
Downie got injured at the end of the fourth game in the final period due to a hit from Nathan Horton that forced him to go out. Lightning wasn’t able to play the game it is used to after he went out but still managed to come up with a strong performance.
One of the main reasons why the current Lightning team has come so far this season is that the coach trusts his players fully and believes that they can win against any team. This has boosted the players’ confidence and helped them get better.
Downie is expected to be a part of the team whenever Lightning heads onto ice. Although at times a player is not fully fit, but in the case of Downie if he wants to play, he is allowed to play even if it is a crunch game like the fifth game of the ongoing series.
Nevertheless, in case he isn’t included for the sixth game, the likely replacement for him will be Blair Jones.
Can Tampa Bay Lightning use Game 4 to boost confidence and forget Game 5?
Lightning was absolutely brilliant to say the least in Game 4, managing to come back from a 3-goal deficit to win the game 5-3.
However, the fifth game of the series witnessed a total change of momentum as Boston Bruins came out strong. Even though Lightning got into an early lead in the game, Bruins came back in the game to win 3-1.
The unpredictable performance that Lightning displayed has left some experts shocked. They are expected to bounce back in the sixth game as it will be played at their home ice at the St. Pete Times Arena.
