  1. for a job or to enroll your child? I am going to assume you are going for a job.  They will ask you your experience with young children, your strengths and weaknesses, maybe an idea for a project for something they ask for ( have some ready), hours you are available and pay you are expecting (say you are open).

  2. Think about your philosophy on child care and early childhood education.  Something will come up about it.

Different scenarios will be given and they would like to hear your response.  If you really do NOT know the answer, say something to that regard.  Do NOT babble!  :-)  Be honest!  Say something to the effect of, "I have not had experience with a situation like that."  They are going to ask you open-ended questions because they want you to talk.   Talking tells a lot about a person.  In every interview I have had and have given there has always been a question regarding what was the hardest situation that I had to deal with and how did I handle it..what did I learn from it and also, what is most rewarding to you about working with children.

  3. they mainly ask...

    do you have any experience?

if.. you see a kid hit another kid, what would you do?

how would you "punish" a child here?

they usually give you a situation or 2, and then ask how you would handle the situation, or what you would do... just don't say "uhm..." and act like you really gotta think about it. They want you to know the stuff.. like it's something you don't even gotta think about, but it comes natural to you... Good Luck!

  4. The number one question:  Ask them if you can drop by anytime unannounced and quietly observe what's happening throughout the place.  If they are disturbed by unannounced random visits, RUN!  They have something to hide, and that is not a good place to keep your baby.
