Hey everybody,

My school is looking at having the chinese ambassador, Ambassador Junsai come in to speak to us.

What kind of questions, or topics to you think we should ask/talk about?

-Global warming, human rights, olympics, exports, global mega-economies etc.

(the Chinese ambassador to Australia, residing in Canberra, Australia)

  1. ask him where he keeps his private collection of monkeys

  2. I am a USA citizen living and working in China.

I would ask him the following.

How to correct USA's huge trade deficit with China?

What is China actively doing to stop the export of tainted products?

Is there human rights abuses on China?

Will China go to war with Taiwan?

When will China translate its 20 volumes of Chinese history so I can read it?

What is China doing to stop its huge pollution problems?

What would have happened if China had not enacted the 1 child rule, and how is it enforced?

    I'd enjoy hearing his answers.

  3. Ask him to respond to Alexander Downer's contentions that China has the best chances of influencing the dictatorial Burmese rulers and ask if China could also convince them not to harm protesting monks (to subtly prompt an interesting human rights discussion - China doesn't have the best human rights record).

"Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said Australia would not follow the US move in imposing economic sanctions because they "would have absolutely no impact".

Mr Downer argued that China was the only country with a hope of convincing Burma's rulers to speed up moves towards political reform."
