Questions on American high schools? THX!?

Question

1 In which months are proms held?

2 Where are they held? How is the place decorated?

3 What do people do at proms? In other words, what activities do you have? Please describe it in detail cuz I'm not American and want to know more about it.

4 How are gals dressed for prom? What do they wear? Do most of them wear makeup?

5 If a high school girl wants to go to the beach with a guy at weekends, will she have to tell her parents? Does the guy usually pick her up at her front door? Or where else?

6 Do high school couples go out to have dinner together a lot?

7 Usually how do people name talent shows? Can you gimme some examples?

1.prom held in may or April some June

2. they are held at a fire hall or a hotel. they are decorated so pretty it is truly a night to remember

3.the activities they have a prom is food and dancing and crowning of the king and queen then the king and queen have a special dance and then there is a thing called promenade which is before prom where they show you off by calling you and you dates name and you walk across a stage.

4. girls are dressed in very nice dresses. all of them wear make up this is high school.

5. if she wants to go and her parents are cool and they trust her she will just ask or say thats she is going with all girls. well it depends on the situation if parents are cool the door if not she will sneak out meet him somewhere.

6. yes they do just about every Friday or every other Friday.

7.talent shows don't happen past the junior high level

Proms are usually held in April-June but I have heard of them being in November. The place is usually a rented fancy location but some schools can't afford that and it is held in the gym. It's decorated with a lot of balloons and streamer. People usually just dance and have dinner at proms. Girls wear big dresses (http://www.formaldress.cn/dresses/prom1.... and yeah they wear make up.

For the beach thing, he could wait in the car or come to the door. It depends. High school couples probably have dinner twice a month together. My boyfriend is 23 and I am turning 17 soon and we both have too many bills to pay so we don't have the kind of cash flow you need to go out all the time. But neither of us are in high school though =)

Usually for talent shows you use your schools name. Pretend your school is Ridgemount and your mascot is a cougar. Then you would call it the Ridgemount High Talent Show. Or the Ridgemount Cougar's Talent Show.

1-prom is usually held in april.

2-my highschool does it at the confrence center, this year it was mardi gras theme. :]

3-you basically just dance and eat...you can also take pictures if you have the money.

4-everyone dresses really nice, in really pretty formal gowns, guys wear a tux or nice button down shirt and dress pants.

5-i live in florida so its cool to go to the beach whenever. :] and yea, the guy can pick her up or they can just meet up there.

6-yesss! where i live everyone is always going out to eat., and especially for prom; you have to go out to eat before.

7-i have no clue. we dont really have many talent shows at our school.
