I have a few questions..curious. First, does the spell, Alohamora, have a counter-charm?

-How was the Golden Snitch introduced to Quidditch?

-What is the 'water bird' called?

-Are charms stronger than spells?

-What is the spell called/incantation of when Hermione produces a blue flame that can be carried around in a jar?

Thanks for all your help!!!

  1. 1 It's not been mentioned in the book. But there are probably spells that prevent doors from being unlocked with Alohomora

2 There is a bird called the Golden Snitch and it was used as the Snitch in Quidditch. However, it was dying out. So the Ministry decided to ban the use of the bird in Quidditch and instead fashioned a ball with all the characteristics of the Snitch. That's the short story. You can read full details in Quidditch Through The Ages if you have a copy. (I'm serious. It was printed years ago)

3 Water bird? More details please. I'm not too clear on this

4 There's a difference between the two but I'm not exactly sure what it is. You could look it up on Answers. It's been asked before. i suppose Charms are something with a particular purpose, I mean it's used to help in certain areas. Spells I think are meant for attack and defence. Sorry....

5 The incantation was never mentioned in any of the books but if you have watched Sorceror's Stone (or Philosopher's Stone), listen carefully to Hermione. It's during the quidditch game.

  2. No, it doesn't.

Wasn't it introduced by Oliver Wood to Harry?

I'm not sure about that one.

I think in some cases they can be, though aren't they really a type of spell?

    Incendio?

Sorry, I don't really know much of these.
