Questions on baby guppies?

the fry were just born today and theyve been alive for about 7 hours. theyre just laying down and dont move much is that bad. are they suppose to be swimming and active or are they suppose to be the way they are just laying there?? are they sick?? because their mother passed away a couple hours after giving birth. i think due to stress

I have two thoughts on why they are laying on the bottom..my first thought is that they are dying, if they haven't already. All fry should be very active and swim about a lot. The ones that lay on the bottom signal that they are going to die. One other cause is that the filter in your tank might be too strong for the little guys. They could be staying on the bottom so that they don't get sucked up to it. That's why when you get fry, you have to get a filter net so that the babies don't get sucked into the filter. If they are sick, I suspect they will die soon. :( I'm sorry. On the bright side, you can always just start fresh. For further questions most more details.
