  1. If you buy one brand new, you will get a warranty with it in case of something does happen to it, you can get it fixed for free. If u buy a refurbished one, you dont really know what kind of condition its in, and most likely have to pay another $150 if something happens to it. If u buy a new one look into getting a intercooler to help increase the life expectancy of the 360.

  2. I would recommend that you purchase the new one for the extra $100. The reason why I suggest this is because I bought a refurbished 360 from GameStop and it didn't last more than 6 days. I realize that some of these systems are just faulty in nature, but I ended up paying the extra $100 so I could be confident that it would work properly.

As far as your life expectancy question, it has already been proven that the xBox lasts longer (in general) than the new xBox 360. But, I would definitely suggest getting a 360. If you are looking for ideas when buying a 360, look for the system that includes the 20 GB hard drive. I suggest this because you can download movies, patches, and other files to your hard drive and it is more stable than buying memory cards.

Good luck and enjoy your new xBox!
