  3. Chapter 2 - the beastie is a person. the person died on top of the mountain. The beastie terrifies them. the dead person they find sets the children into uncivilized behavior.

    Chapter 4 - the boys painting their faces shows their downfall into uncivilization. it doesn't really foreshadow anything, it is the start of the downfall of civilization.

    Look it up on sparknotes.com it's really helpful. my high school teacher looks at it herself and she allowed us to look at it.

  5. The boys paint their faces to represent uncivilization. It represents that the boys are going to have no rules and go crazy. Uncivilization is what it foreshadows
