i'm italian girl and I wanted to know: if now the hymn of your nation is god save the queen, when there is a king, the hymn will change in god save the king?

  3. Yes, the words of our national anthem depend on whether there is a king or queen on the throne.  When there is a King on the throne, we will sing God Save the King.

  10. "God Save the Queen", or "God Save the King", is the national anthem of the United Kingdom. The title of the song depends on the gender of the reigning monarch, and so it now uses "Queen", though "King" has been historically usual. The song also serves, or has served similar functions in many other countries, in consequence of historic British rule over them, and generally in connection with royal ceremony. Currently, besides its British use, "God Save the Queen" is one of the two national anthems of New Zealand, and is the royal anthem of Canada and Australia.
