  1. Ask about shows, show fees, etc.

If you are using their horses, ask about leasing, show costs, etc.

If you have the time to do so, ask if she has a working student program or is willing to trade work for riding time.

Talk about your goals, and what your willing to spend

Does she like your horse? Or will she want you to get another horse at some point?

Will she ride your horse if you have problems?

Another good thing to do is go and watch her other students. Talk to them about what she's like once you get to know her. Will she pressure you a lot? Will she yell if you are having problems? Does she ever end a lesson because you don't get something?

Are there group lessons? How does she match the groups?

How many lessons does she think you should be doing? Now and in the future,

ANYTHING you can think of. If you have the slightest wondering, ask away. Horse people LOVE to talk horses, and anything about horses. Why do you think we all talk so much? :D

Good Luck! Remember, if you decide down the road that this trainer isn't the one for you, you can always find someone else.

  2. how long theve been riding and there riding pet peeves

  3. I need more detail. But with what you said here:

You dont need to ask questions. Just when she asks your level say the truth. Dont be over exagerating. That can end up in a lot of issues.

  4. how long have you been training/riding

why do you like horses, or coaching students?

get to know your coach better and ask her intrests/hobbies and things like that!

  5. coach for what??? haha lol :]

  6. questions about what? be more specific and you'll get better answers :)

  7. just try and make it casual.  ask her about her horses, and if you get to go to shows, how many years she's been riding, if you've got any problems with your horse this is a good time to tell and ask.  if you don't own your own horse then ask her about some of the horses at the barn, and ask her which one she'd most likely put you on and just simple stuff like that.  ask what you need to know, and not at all like, what did you win last weekend at thunderbird and what horses have shoes lol.

  8. more detail plzzz

  9. Ask her who else she has trained and what level they are competing at in relation to where they were when they began with her. Ask her where she thinks she can get you, does she sound ambitious and committed? What level of riding/competing does she do herself? Do you agree with her training methods? Ask her about a few that relate to you - eg if you have trouble with your horse when jumping ask about this etc. Ask to speak to a few of her current and past clients, speak to them when she is not there, ask what they think of her personally and professionally. =]
