On the app. it says hours available to work during the week, how much hours should I put as min. and max. if I'm 16?

Who can I put as professional references?

If I worked at my parent's restaurant as a waitress, and I got paid and everything even if my parents own the restaurant, does that count as past jobs?

  1. You should put the times available that you can work. I am  sure you are still in school, so maybe from 4 pm to 9 pm.  and add weekends.

Put on there 30 hours a week, just let them know your schedule.

Also, even if you worked for your parents, YES include that as your past job.

  2. First answerer is right, put the maximum hours available, not the least. If they call you back for an interview, then discuss how many hours you want to work. Try to be flexible, but not abused. My second job was at KFC, the manager there abused the high schoolers, and a few didnt graduate on time because he made them work so much.

I would put a post it note on the application saying that you were a waitress at your parents resaurant.

Also, one more piece of advice. If you go in for an interview, if the interviewer doesnt bring up the salary, you bring it up.

If they say they need to determine the salary,  thats ok, but do not start one day without knowing your starting wage.

I have been burned like this and so have friends of mine. You think your gonna be paid a certain amount, and after your first pay check there is a rude awakening.

  3. i'd say 20-25 hours a week. you should check with the state, there are some laws that won't allow you to work for X amount of hours or between certain hours. For references, put mentors, teachers, priest, or someone that thinks you're responsible. And Yes, you should put your previous job as a waitress at your parent's restaurant on the application. Best of luck! :)

  4. The job working for your family Does count as a previous job.

Put how many ever hours you want to work, they will work with you on it to make you both happy.

Jamba Juice is yummy, seems like a great place to work.

If you didnt work for anyone but your parents then they are your only profesional ref. but some places wont let you name family there, so if it says no family you just wont be able to put anyone there. If it doesnt specify not using family then put them down.
