Question:

Questions regarding a Midwest Perennial Garden...?

Okay, I am going to start a garden and I live in Wisconsin. I would like something that tapers from tall in back to ground cover in front. I don't want little circles of this kind of that kind, I would like more rows of plants, back to front and I would also like to not have to replant every year. For the ground cover, I like snow on the mountain and hostas, but am open to other things (those are just the ones I've seen that I like) and I like yarrow. Flowerwise, I know irises would work as the tall in back and I really like dahlias and daisies but I don't like lillies... I guess the question is: Any suggestions for a colorful tapering height perennial garden for the Madison Wisconsin area?

  1. The answer to your Q is impossible to answer on here, it would fill the section up. Get books, go to garden centers, look at other peoples gardens, visit garden open to the public. You will have to make your own mind up on this vast subject. get to it.
