I had Norton and I uninstalled it then I bought "Defender Pro 2008" and so I installed it and now my computer is acting a little funny because now when I go into my space and check to see if I have messeges or something it will say "loading" but it will never finsh and I try to refresh that dont work also I try to go to the top where it say home, mail, friends, music, etc. and it will not give the drop down menu options like browse people or find friends. I try to play that Poker Holdem Application and that will never stop loading either. So I unistalled the Antivirus thing to if it worked then...nope. So i installed it again so I can have back on my computer. So my question is does this sound familiar Has this ever happened to you? why is my computer acting this way? Also, all the suden I cant play videos it just prompts me to download adobe which i check to see in the control panel if i still have it and i do! Or java still have that too. I try to download it anyway to see what happens and it wont let me! Please someone help I use my computer for alot and the fact that i was trying to make work better and spend money on it and now it acts like this just fusterates me.

  1. You may not have completely uninstalled the Norton product even though it appears that you have. If this is the case, it may be conflicting with your internet usage. Try downloading and installing the Norton Removal Tool. Either search that on google, or click this link:

    http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsg...

Once you run the installer, restart your computer and try checking myspace again.

Often times, when a virus protection program is uninstalled it leaves traces which interferes with new virus protection software that is installed at a later date. To further complicate things, Defender Pro has a fairly bad record when it comes to being user-friendly.

Hopefully the norton uninstall will help things, but if it doesn't try some of the methods described in the following website to remove Defender Pro completely.

If you do somehow manage to figure out what is going on without resorting to reformatting, I would recommend switching to a free and low-maintenance virus protection program such as AVG Free Edition or Avast!

  2. Not really sure what the problem could be.

If this was happening to me Id do the following.

Make sure Norton is COMPLETELY uninstalled.

(HINT: go to symantec website and download uninstaller to make sure NO drivers are left on ur pc that could cause confliction)

    Uninstall Defender Pro.

    Reboot.

    ReInstall Defender Pro.

    Reboot.

Make sure ur pc is up to date.

    Update Defender pro.

    Try your websties again.

If this doesnt help... contact customer support for Defender Pro.

ALSO.. MAKE SURE you have no other antivirus or firewalls installed becase they will conflict and not work properly.

If you bought this online I'd check your credit card..

  4. Make sure the Defender Pro firewall isn't blocking adobe flash player or java.

Or just get the free and one of the best antiviruses like AVG, Avast!, and Avira. They actually work. Trust me.
