Quick HDMI question for T.V./PS3s?

So let's say my 37" television supports up to 1080i res. HDMI cables still work right for my PS3 to my T.V. right? Or doed my T.V. have to support all the way up to 1080p?

  1. no.....as long as your tv has an hdmi input on it you can use an  hdmi cable.......however you will not be able to get your a full 1080p picture!


  2. Yes you can use HDMI but set your output to 720P on the PS3. Your TVs native resolution isn't 1080i although it will accept the signal.
