  1. 3/4 cup milk

    one egg

beat egg and milk together until lemon yellow

dip steak into eg and milk mixture

dip steak into flour mixture that has salt and pepper

be sure steak has been tenderized with  a meat hammer

fry in medium heat, lenght of time depends on thickness of steak.

Enjoy chicken fried steak.  When in a pinch try the food net work web site.  It has several great receipts

  2. Kymme's recipe is good but it does not have to be bread crumbs, you could substitute a flour and corn meal mixture or even crushed cereal (corn flakes etc...) you could also use cheez-its, ritz, or graham crackers crushed.

  3. actually it is originally called country fried steak. originating in the south where all the good fried stuff is.. yummmmm. start with cubed steak. you want to salt and pepper it first then put it in flour smash it in really good. then you want to scramble one egg i put one dash of tabasco and some pepper. dip it in the egg wash not soaking. just dipping. then roll in the flour. now everyone is different on this part. some put seasoning in the flour it self i like a season all salt. flip it over and over several times in the flour so there is no wetness. now if you want a thicker crust re egg and re flour . now the trick is the temp of your oil. you don't need much and use regular crisco so there is no more than a quarter inch in the pan. i suggest a cast iron.  now you don't want it to hot .a drop of water should just dance across the oil not do the giant sizzle..lol...drop slow with a fork .. do not cover it will get soggy. and when the underside is nice and golden and crisp then flip it. now if you want to make good white gravy to go on top .after cooking pour off excess oil just leave a couple of tablespoons turn low and sprinkle a little bit of the left over flour across the bottom and stir quick.  one browned start slowly pouring in milk a couple of tablespoons at a time. keep stirring don'tnt let it burn and watch it thicken..salt and pepper to taste .. good luck and have a great night.

  4. Chicken fried steak is prepared by taking a thin cut of beef steak and tenderizing it by pounding. It is then either immersed in egg batter and/or dredged in flour to which salt, pepper, and often other seasonings, have been added (called breading). After this, the steak is fried in a skillet or, less commonly, deep-fried. The frying medium has traditionally been butter, lard, or other shortening, but in recent years health concerns have led most cooks to substitute vegetable oil. Country fried steak, as it is called in states east of the Red River, is made without egg wash.'

  5. In the south it is called country fried steak....

cubed steak is what i normally use...but,you can pound any steak out to an even thickness.

first dust your steak with flour...then dip in an egg mixture (1/4cup milk 1 egg well beaten) then roll in flour that has been seasoned to your taste with S&P..coat the steak well.pressing the flour onto the meat...shake of excess flour and let rest for about 10 mins so the crust can set....heat about 3/4 inch oil over med high hea in heavy skillet brown on each side....I serve this with a white sauce (White gravy)

  6. It is called chicken fried steak but I don't have a recipe

  10. Eggs and flour are fine. Pound out the roundsteak, dip in egg, then seasoned flour then egg then flour again. Fry in a skillet. You can make really good gravy with the pan drippings too. It is called Chicken Fried Steak.
