I'm doing an essay about the connection between the author, purpose, and audience. What I wanna start off with is how the Ayn developed Objectivism (as this is the whole purpose of the book), and I've been trying to do some research about how and why she developed it. I haven't able to find much about it though, except for definitions of this concept.

Can someone help me out and give me some details?

I don't want my essay written for me, just information please.

  1. Here are a couple of sites, but I'm not sure when she developed her philosophy.  And I'm not sure Anthem really has anything much to do with that philosophy -- it's a dystopia, sure, about collectivism taken to extremes, and the germs of the stuff she later said are there, but I'm not sure if the developed ideas --such as they are -- are present, yet.

  2. Some biographical information should give you a fairly good insight into why she developed the philosophy of Objectivism. After all, she was young and Russian in 1917, at the start of the Russian Revolution. She watched businesses and properties, including her father's, being seized and nationalized for the benefit of the state.

How? Well, she was brilliant and single minded.

Not what you need? Maybe you can find something here.
