I have a worksheet about India and the Moguls. It's not ancient India and Moguls though. It's during the Age of Exploration and when the Europeans began to explore Asia and the Americas. We had to do worksheets on different countries and civilizations that have been affected by the Europeans coming to their territory and conquering them or whatever. But, the questions are: 1. Can you explain how their culture changed after the coming of the Europeans?

2. Can you explain how the Europeans changed?

These questions are only for the Indian and Mogul civilizations. When the Europeans came to them.

  1. British colonization of the east is believed to have been one of the prime factors in the decline of the Moghul empire. After the Moghul empire collapsed, Muslims moved to the eastern and western most regions of the Asian subcontinent. These two areas became East and West Pakistan, and even later West Pakistan became Bangladesh. During Mughal rule Buddhism was wiped out of India. Buddhism, before the Mughul empire, had pretty much replaced Hinduism while in India, but as the Mughal empire moved out of India Hinduism again became India's state religion. A new religion also formed, Sikhism. Sikhism is a combination of Hinduism and Islam. It only makes up about 2% of the Indian population and is located on the border of India and present day Pakestan in the area known as Kashmir.

When the British began to colonize India they brought influences such as the sport cricket, which is still extremely popular in India. They also brought western dress, Christianity, and influenced many future endeavors such as Bollywood, India's Hollywood equivalent.
