Quick Yu-gi-oh Terminology Question?

This is inspired by a comment someone made on my previous question. The point to his premise is valid. I love the game of Yu-gi-oh. I'm willing to admit that, the show is another matter I might get into later. I've played and collected for about 6-8 years, and have only been to 5 tournaments. Is it just me, or does everyone speak another language at those places. They say D-MOC, I say hu? They say "I sac," I think, "Who are you firing?"

Why do I go into these places and feel like I'm in a different country? Please people, I'm I the only one out there who thinks this?

first of all i entered over 7 turnament and yeah some of the

people talk wierd i when i was dueling the turnaments

champion i though it was going to be a chalenge but hes

deck looked like it was made by a 4 year old well i suggest

next time u go there just duel and dont listen or u go crazy.

it's just thair acsent like i say ya but others say yo'll or you most peopul say i win but i say that's game i say that's aewsem pal but others say right bro it's all just the acsent just ignorit n it'll sound normel!!

Terminology makes things simpler depending on how often you here it. Rather than say the whole name ppl tend to shorten it.

As for does any1 else think this i personally prefer it but i understand where your comin from. It's gonna be hard to get it straght away but go often enough an i garentee u urself will start using it.

examples of other terminology- Cookie, Staple, Beatstick, Trampler,Breakthrough. These are just a few of many. As 8i say ppl sorten name's aswell so instead of say heavy storm they'd just say Storm. Completely understand where your coming.

I can understand where you are coming from being that you are new to the tournament scene.  I mean being to only 5 tourneys in 8 years is definitely not alot.  lol.

There are alot of terms I didn't know as well when I started to go to my local shop, but as you continually go and make friends there you will learn everything you need to know.

About 2 years ago I didn't know what the term Mill meant.  It means to Deckout your opponent, which in turn means to make them run out of cards and win the duel.  I didn't know what a Beatstick was.  A Beatstick is basically any monster that takes no skill to play.  A monster you use with a very high attack that you can easily summon to beatdown your opponent.  Examples of this are all of the 4 star Normal monsters with 1900 atk points.  I'm not gonna go through them all because there are alot.  A simple suggestion to you is why don't you just ask them what it means.  Most people are nice enough to give you a proper answer.

By the way, to answer your other questions about DMOC and "I sac":

DMOC stands for Dark Magician of Chaos.

The term "I sac" is short for "I sacrifice" or to use actual Yu-Gi-Oh terms, they are "Tributing" their monsters to Normal Summon or Set.
