Quick contact lens question?

Okay this is going to sound really dumb but... I just got contacts a few days ago and I just wanted to make sure it's okay to take them with you in the car.

Like if I was traveling and had to take them out.. is it not good for them to be sloshing around in their case with the movement or am I being obsessive?

lol thanks.

  1. Its a good idea to put them in case and then in your car.... you dont need an ultrasonic cleaner if you are going on a bumpy road, they will be clean when you take them out.

    lolz...

But please dont forget your lenses in your car, esp in summers, coz when the temperature goes up, the solution in the lens case slowly evaporates leaving the lenses dry. Once dehydrated, the lens will never retain its original shape and so will irritate your eyes and may cause complications.

  2. LOL.  Being a little obsessive, I'd say.  I've worn contacts for years and I always take them with me!  You don't want to get to your destination and lose or rip a contact and not have extras!  You have to remember that they were sloshed around when they were shipped to your eye doctor's office and when you took them home.

  3. that's not a dumb question! It's totally OK to take your contact lenses in the car. Just make sure there is plenty of fluid in the case, and that the lids are on tight..

Oh, and try not to keep the contact lenses in the car for more than a couple of days in a row if you can help it. Sometimes the heat from the car will make the fluid to dissipate, leaving your contacts dry. If you have to leave them in the case, in the car for more than a day or two, then check on them to make sure the fluid level is ok, and if not, add some more..

Have fun on your trio! :-)
