I can't make out how to do this! Please help. I want to write an article and the words are complex so I want to repeat them by short cut keys. Does anyone know an easy way of doing this. Can you help?

  1. Presumably you are using Word as you are writing an article. If you look at your keyboard there are several keys you are unlikely to use. For instance the key to the left of the No. 1 key has 3 symbols on, 2key to the left of the enter key, the one with the hash and tilde and the one above it curly and square brackets again you are unlikely to use - or perhaps use in a different program. Therefore you can utilise those as shortcut keys.  Say you wantg to use the word pragmatic a lot. type it, then highlight (double click) and assuming you are pre 2007 version, up to Tools, Autocorrect options, the cursor will be flashing in the replace box, with what you have highlighted in the next box. In the replace box put one of the symbols on one of the keys, then add, and OK so in future when you press that key, your word appears. If you are 2007, same process but you have to click firstly on Office Button across and down to Word Options, Proofing and across to autocorrect options. If you actually want to set up macros, tools, macros, again use any combination of key in conjunction with the shift and shift plus contrl key so if for instance you wanted to put in, say the word pragmatic again I would use Ctrl Shift P - helps the memory.
