Got a graphics exam in a bit and I want to know what FSC approved paper means and it is suppose to be about cd packaging.

What are cd cases made out of (what type of plastic etC)

Any advice?

  1. Depends on what type of CD case.

But, the most common, 'jewel case' is made of polystyrene (pure, not expanded) and all of the components are injection moulded.

It is subsequently hard, but brittle, and so breaks easily. (as I'm sure many out there are acutely aware of)

"It is a three-piece plastic case, measuring 142 mm × 125 mm × 10 mm, which usually contains a compact disc along with the liner notes and a back card. Two opposing transparent halves are hinged together to form the casing, the back half holding a media tray that grips the disc by its hole."

Hope this helps, and good luck :)

  2. CD cases are made out of either polystyrene or polypropelene (sp?) and FSC approved logo is a guarantee that the paper has been obtained from responsible forest operations.

YAY :D I have it too .. 2 hours i'm dreading it :( good luck with urs :)
