"rakdos pit dragon gets +1/+0 until the end of turn" can you play this ability more than once then? so 4 red makes rakdos pit dragon +4/+0

Yeahp, but only until the end of your turn and so long as you have enough mana.

As long as the card doesn't say "You can't pay more than <number> to play this, you can pay for it as much as you have mana for it.  But do remember that it only lasts until the end of the current turn.
