Quick!! please help my cockatiel?

Question

and please just dont say "take him to the vets!" because nobody is home and i cannot drive ¬¬

my dog jumped up at the cockatiel cage and Dickie started flapping around - then when he settled again i notices a splodge of blood on his wing

it hasnt got any darker since i noticed it and he still looks alert and climbed around the cage after Harley but i'm worried

i've read about blood feathers and things like that, but i have a quail that popped a blood feather and she was fine afterwards

i've just never had cockatiels before and i'm worried about Dickie. what could it be and will he be ok if i just leave him?

try not to worry

something like that happened to my tiel and i took him to the vet the next day and he was fine

it probably looks worse than it is

go on to yellow pages and find a bird vet call one and ask them or call the rspca

u can wait until 2moz

just make sure it doesn't get worse

I believe all birds have blood feathers, well, parrots do at least- certainly looks like your 'tiel has knocked one.

Not anything to worry about- it'll fall out if it wants to or it will stay in there and the bird will clean it.

The only reason the bird would need to be taken into the vets is if the bird was bitten by the dog- dogs have alot of harmful bacteria in their mouths and your bird could die from an infection if he was bitten- but if the dog didnt touch the bird than you should be safe.

keep a close eye on it as long as not getting bigger it means that it has stopped and where it is  more likely a cut then blood feather

but it looks like its fine already...

it really is a blood feather...

he must have been really young.....

just keep an eye on if he is eating and drinking normally...
