I want to become a juvenile Probation Officer, but I am scared I won't be able to get a job right after college. I want to major Criminal Justice, but I wonder if that will limit my employment opportunities. Should I major Sociology instead? I was thinking I could work in Social Services until I become a probation officer.

  1. Honestly, you have to get out into the community and get your name out there. Visit juvenile correction facilities and try volunteering for the police department. Pump up your resume by getting volunteer hours and a wonderful recommendation from your superior. If you want to help these kids take a class in psychology/sociology. Being a well rounded person will defiantly earn you brownie points when looking for your ideal job. Don't give up if you don't get what you want. Keep your chin up because something good will eventually come your way. Good luck!
