Quick question about wiring my system?

i wired my amp to my car and to the four speakers. do i have to run rca cables to the head unit AND speaker wire to each of the four speakers?

  1. yes...the RCA's will bring the musical signal to the amp and the speaker wires will breing it to the speakers.

    an easy way to run the speaker wire is to run it to where the radio is and hook into the speaker wire there. (instead of hooking the speakers to the radio, hook them to the wires you just ran up from your amp.) this will eliminate the need to remove door panels and and everything else. if your amp is in the trunk, you can just run straight to the rear speakers from there....what i mentioned above is idea mostly for front speakers.


  2. I think you are getting confused because the amp has two types of inputs, low level & high level. They are just two different ways you can use to get sound signal to your amp. You only need to use one input. Low level are used with RCAs and High level hook to the decks speaker wires if RCAs are not available. Low level is the best method.

    So, all you need is RCAs from the deck to the amp to provide sound signal, speaker wires from the amp to the speakers, and power wiring.

  3. well you need to run a rca cable from your head unit to your amplifier, thats pretty simple

    then run stereo wire from the channels of your amp to your speakers
