Quick question........?

my friend has diabetes and is 16... but now she thinks she has mono...

that shouldnt cause any large problems other than the just having mono should it? like is it very serious that she has diabetes too?

The only thing that is going to effect her diabetes as far as the mono goes is her lack of appetite and possible vomiting.  Make sure she gets plenty of fluids and eats well.  Mono is not very fun.  I suggest she sees a doctor as well.

I don't know of any reason the diabetes would affect the Mono, but the Mono may affect the diabetes.  Any time a diabetic is ill, their blood sugars can get a little goofy, especially if it is affecting their eating habits.  Tell your friend to be sure to keep an extra close eye on her blood sugar levels until she is over the Mono and do her best to keep eating a healthy adequate diet.
