Quick question runaway/detention center?

if in the state of texas your trialed as an adult at 17, if you runaway from home at 17 can they put you in a detention center?

  1. No. And you can't be petitioned for it. In Texas, you're a criminal adult at 17. Now, the police are required under federal law to enter you as missing under the age of 18, and you can be forced to go home. But no juvenile or criminal charges will be filed. This is assuming you're not on TYC parole or juvenile probation. If you are, and running away violates your probation or parole, you can be handled as a violator for the juvenile offense and then you would be detained.  


  2. In most states even if your classified as an "adult" but under the age of 18 you would stay in a juvenile detention center because your still a juvenile.
